Proposing a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

This proposal would change the U.S. Constitution to require that the federal government not spend more money in a year than it takes in. It would also block any increase to the country's borrowing limit and require that any bill raising taxes or other government revenue be approved by a two-thirds vote in both the House and Senate, with each member's vote recorded.
