US-Kazakhstan Trade Modernization Act

This bill allows the President to change how the United States trades with Kazakhstan. Currently, Kazakhstan gets temporary normal trade status each year because of an old law from 1974 that requires certain countries to meet freedom-of-emigration requirements. Kazakhstan has had this temporary status since 1992. The bill would let the President decide that these old requirements don't apply to Kazakhstan anymore and give Kazakhstan permanent normal trade status instead of the temporary status it gets now.
