La Paz County Solar Energy and Job Creation Act

This law tells the Department of the Interior to transfer about 3,400 acres of federal land in La Paz County, Arizona, to the county if the county asks for it and pays fair market value. Any land with important cultural, environmental, wildlife, or recreational resources must be left out of the transfer. The county and any future owners must work to protect tribal artifacts found on the land, coordinate with the Colorado River Indian Tribes to identify important items, and allow tribal representatives to rebury any artifacts that are uncovered. The land cannot be used for new mining claims or mineral leases, and the county must cover all costs of the transfer.
