Space Infrastructure Act

This bill requires the Department of Homeland Security to officially designate space systems, services, and technology as a critical infrastructure sector. Critical infrastructure refers to systems so important that if they were damaged or destroyed, it would seriously harm the country's security, economy, or public safety. The Department of Homeland Security must create guidance that explains what this space sector includes and choose a federal agency to coordinate activities for this sector. The bill also requires that this new space sector be considered when the department decides how to give out certain national security grants.
