Protecting Federal Funds from Human Trafficking and Smuggling Act of 2025

This bill would require nonprofit organizations to certify they follow federal laws about human trafficking and smuggling before they can receive federal money or tax exemptions. The Government Accountability Office would have to report to Congress each year about which nonprofits don't provide this certification. The bill would also remove a current rule that lets charitable nonprofits skip verifying whether people are eligible for the federal benefits programs they help provide.
