Alpha-gal Allergen Inclusion Act

This bill would add a substance called galactose-alpha-1,3-galactose, also known as alpha-gal, to the list of major food allergens. This means food companies would have to list alpha-gal on their labels when it's in their products, just like they currently do for other major allergens. Alpha-gal is found in red meat and other products made from mammals, and some people develop an allergy to it after certain tick bites.
