PANELS Act

This bill would stop businesses from getting certain tax breaks for putting solar energy equipment on high-quality farmland — land that is especially good for growing food. Right now, businesses can get tax credits for installing solar panels and for producing clean electricity, but this bill would take away those tax credits if the solar equipment is placed on prime or unique farmland. The goal indicated by the bill's name is to protect important agricultural land from being used for solar energy projects instead of farming.
