Natural GAS Act of 2025

This bill puts limits on what the Department of Energy can do when making new energy efficiency rules for certain gas appliances like water heaters, furnaces, boilers, and kitchen stoves and ovens. The Department of Energy would have to confirm that any new rules won't cause a big shift from gas appliances to electric ones, and it would have to measure energy use across the entire process of getting fuel to homes — not just how much energy an appliance uses in your house. The bill also protects certain small appliance manufacturers from having to follow these new rules and says that future rules can't take away features, like fast boiling times, from gas kitchen stoves and ovens.
