MSD Act

This bill requires school districts to create emergency response plans and notify parents quickly during school emergencies like active shooters, bomb threats, or natural disasters to keep receiving federal education funding. School districts must develop procedures that cover all students and staff, and use common alarm systems for different types of emergencies. The bill also requires a federal agency to create rules for making school doors stronger and safer. Schools can use certain federal grant money to pay for these new requirements.
