Veteran Overmedication and Suicide Prevention Act of 2025

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to hire the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine to write a report about veterans who died by suicide in the last five years. The report must cover any veteran who received VA hospital care or medical services during the five years before they died, even if their death wasn't already reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The report will include the total number of veterans who died by suicide, violent death, or accidental death, along with demographic information about these veterans.
