Parental Oversight and Educational Transparency Act

This bill requires schools to give parents more notice and get their written permission before students can take part in certain activities related to student privacy. Currently, schools must tell parents once a year about when activities like surveys and information collection will happen during the school year. This bill adds a new requirement that schools must directly contact each student's parent 14 days before the activity and get written consent from the parent before the student can participate.
