Purchased and Referred Care Improvement Act of 2025

This bill requires the Indian Health Service to pay back patients for their out-of-pocket costs within 30 days when they get authorized medical care from private providers. Currently, when the Indian Health Service cannot provide certain medical or dental services directly, they refer American Indian and Alaska Native patients to private doctors and hospitals for treatment. The bill sets up procedures to make sure patients get reimbursed quickly after they submit the required paperwork. The bill also updates official documents and contracts to use the term "purchased/referred care" instead of "contract health service."
