MODERN WIC Act of 2025

This bill makes permanent changes to allow people to apply for and receive WIC benefits remotely instead of having to visit an office in person. People can now certify or recertify their eligibility for WIC by phone or video call, though in-person options will still be available. States can also mail WIC benefit cards to participants or let them reload benefits remotely rather than requiring them to pick up benefits at a WIC office. The bill also allows states to temporarily approve eligible applicants for immediate participation while they complete required nutritional evaluations within 90 days.
