Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act

This bill creates a program within the Department of Justice called the CCP Initiative, designed to fight spying, hacking, and theft of trade secrets and intellectual property by the Chinese government. The program would focus on stopping the Chinese Communist Party from spying on U.S. colleges, businesses, and critical infrastructure, and it would also address risks from Chinese investments in American businesses and real estate. A similar program existed from 2018 to 2022, and this bill would bring it back for a period of six years.
