Economic Espionage Prevention Act

This bill allows the President to block visas and freeze property of foreign entities that steal U.S. business secrets, help foreign adversaries' security agencies, or break U.S. export laws. The bill names China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela's Maduro government as foreign adversaries. The bill also changes some rules about what the President can regulate during national emergencies, specifically removing protections for importing information materials and personal travel items if the President decides they would make it harder to handle the emergency. It also removes protections for bulk personal data and source code used in connected software apps.
