REDUCE Act

This bill limits how many new federal employees agencies can hire and requires them to make plans to eliminate or combine parts of their agencies. For every four employees who leave, retire, or transfer, agencies can only hire one new person until they have reduced their workforce by 20%. The bill does not apply to jobs that are important for national security, public safety, law enforcement, or immigration enforcement. Each agency must also review all their positions to find ones that are redundant or unnecessary and report their findings to Congress.
