Taiwan Assurance Implementation Act

This bill changes how often the State Department must review its rules about the U.S. relationship with Taiwan. Currently, the State Department only has to do this review one time and report to Congress about it. Under this bill, the State Department would have to review these rules and report to Congress every two years as long as the rules are being used. The reports must explain how the rules consider that Taiwan has a representative government chosen through free and fair elections, and must identify ways to reduce restrictions on the U.S.-Taiwan relationship.
