New Era of Preventing End-Stage Kidney Disease Act

This bill creates regional centers that focus on rare kidney diseases to increase public awareness, do research, and help with diagnosis and treatment. It requires medical schools that get certain government grants to offer special training fellowships for doctors learning to treat rare kidney diseases in communities that are more affected by these conditions. The bill also expands an existing program to train healthcare workers to care for people with kidney disease. Additionally, it requires the Department of Health and Human Services to study topics like treating rare kidney disease in affected populations and reducing the need for dialysis or kidney transplants, then report their findings to Congress.
