Public Safety Communications Act

This bill creates legal authority for the Office of Public Safety Communications, which is part of a government agency that handles telecommunications. The office has two main jobs: giving out federal grants for newer 9-1-1 systems that use internet technology to receive emergency calls, and overseeing FirstNet, which manages the communication network used by police, firefighters, and other emergency workers.
