Empowering and Enforcing Environmental Justice Act of 2025

This bill would create an Office of Environmental Justice inside the Department of Justice. It would also set up grants to help state, local, and tribal governments do a better job enforcing environmental laws related to environmental justice. The summary notes that on February 5, 2025, the Department of Justice issued a directive to close its existing Office of Environmental Justice by March 15, 2025.
