Empowering Families in Special Education Act

This bill requires schools to tell parents that they have the right to include other people with special knowledge about their child on their child's individualized education program (IEP) team. An IEP is a plan that makes sure children with disabilities get the right education services. Current law already allows these extra people to join the team, but schools don't have to tell parents about this option. This bill would make schools notify parents of this right.
