WOSB Certification Expansion and Opportunity Act

This bill changes how the government counts women-owned small businesses when measuring if federal agencies are meeting their contracting goals. Only women-owned small businesses that have been officially certified by a federal agency, state government, or an approved national organization would count toward these goals. Women-owned small businesses that have applied for certification but are waiting for a decision are considered certified until the Small Business Administration or certifying organization makes a final determination. The Small Business Administration must give quarterly briefings about the certification process and how the new requirements are working.
