Medicare Fraud Detection and Deterrence Act of 2025

This bill makes three changes to Medicare. First, it requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to deactivate the unique ID numbers of healthcare providers who have been banned from federal healthcare programs because of fraud, waste, or abuse. Second, it requires Medicare Advantage plans to include provider ID numbers when they submit data about certain medical equipment, lab tests, imaging tests, and home health services. Third, it requires healthcare workers who work for telehealth companies to use a special code when billing Medicare for telehealth services.
