Preventing Medicare Telefraud Act

This bill sets new rules for when Medicare will pay for certain services. If a doctor orders expensive lab tests or medical equipment during a telehealth visit, Medicare will only pay if the patient had at least one in-person visit with that doctor in the past six months. The bill also requires doctors to use their own identification number when billing Medicare for telehealth services they can charge for separately.
