School Bus Safety Act of 2025

This bill requires the Department of Transportation to create new safety rules for school buses. School buses would need to have three-point seat belts, fire suppression systems, firewalls between the engine and passenger areas, better materials that don't catch fire easily, automatic emergency braking, data recorders, and electronic stability control. School bus drivers would need at least eight hours of behind-the-wheel training. The bill also creates a grant program to help schools buy new buses with these safety features or modify their existing buses.
