MAPWaters Act of 2025

This bill requires the Forest Service and the Department of the Interior to work together to collect and publish online map data showing where the public can access federal waterways for activities like fishing and recreation, including any restrictions that apply. They have five years to put this information online, must update most of it at least twice a year, and must update fishing restriction data in real time as changes happen. The public would also be able to submit questions or comments about the data, and the agencies must report to Congress each year on their progress. The requirements do not apply to irrigation canals and flowage easements.
