Broadcast Freedom and Independence Act of 2025

This bill would stop the Federal Communications Commission from punishing broadcasters or taking away their licenses because of the opinions or viewpoints they share on air. The FCC also could not block business deals based on what broadcasters say. However, the FCC would still be able to take action against broadcasters who break existing laws about things like fraud, obscene language, or content that encourages violence under First Amendment rules.
