Great Lakes Mass Marking Program Act of 2025

This bill gives official approval to a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service program that tags fish raised in hatcheries before releasing them into the Great Lakes. The tagging helps tell the difference between hatchery fish and wild fish. The program started in 2010 on a small scale, and this bill would let the agency buy more equipment and hire more workers to expand the tagging program. The Fish and Wildlife Service must share the information collected from this program with federal, state, and tribal agencies that manage fish in the Great Lakes.
