Ensuring Access to Essential Drugs Act

This bill would remove certain brand-name drugs from a Medicare program that requires drug companies to give discounts to seniors. The program normally makes drug makers provide discounts to Medicare Part D patients who have spent more than their yearly deductible on prescription drugs. The bill would exempt oral brand-name drugs that are treated as generic drugs under a different government program called Medicaid.
