Securing Access to Care for Seniors in Critical Condition Act of 2025

This bill changes Medicare payment rules for long-term care hospitals. Starting October 1, 2026, some patient discharges from these hospitals would be exempt from a lower payment rate called the "site-neutral payment rate" if they meet certain high acuity criteria. Currently, long-term care hospital stays that don't qualify for specialized payment rates get paid at this lower site-neutral rate instead.
