SERVE Our Communities Act

This bill allows the Bureau of Justice Assistance to give money to states and local governments to help former prisoners return to their communities. The money can be used for mentoring, support services, and training programs. To get this funding, states and local governments must work to prevent violent offenders from committing crimes again and must let judges consider how dangerous someone might be when deciding on bail or whether to release them before trial.
