Pay Federal Workers and Servicemembers Act

This bill would let certain federal workers and military members get unemployment benefits during a government shutdown. When the government shuts down, some federal employees still have to work but don't get paid until the shutdown ends. Right now, these workers usually can't get unemployment benefits because they're still working. This bill would change that rule so these unpaid workers could get unemployment benefits immediately, without having to wait.
