NATO Edge Act

This bill makes it harder for the President to pull the United States out of NATO, the military alliance with other countries. On top of existing rules requiring Congress's approval to leave NATO, the bill adds a new rule saying the President can only exit if all NATO countries that spend less than 2% of their economic output on defense have promised to reach that level within five years. The bill also allows Congress to take the matter to court if the President tries to leave NATO without following these rules. These new rules would expire on September 30, 2033.
