American Teacher Act

This bill creates grants to help raise the minimum salary of public elementary and high school teachers to $60,000 per year, with yearly adjustments for inflation. It also provides grants to states to give teachers cost-of-living salary increases. The bill allows the Department of Education to run a national campaign to promote teaching as a career and encourage more diverse people to become teachers.
