ACRES Act

This bill requires the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior to report each year on how many acres of federal land had work done to reduce wildfire risk, such as clearing dangerous vegetation. It also requires these agencies to create standard methods for tracking and checking the accuracy of data about these wildfire prevention activities, including figuring out how well the activities actually reduce wildfire risk. The bill also asks the Government Accountability Office to study how well these new requirements are being carried out and report its findings to Congress.
