Crop Insurance for Future Farmers Act

This bill changes the federal crop insurance program to give more help to new farmers and veteran farmers. Currently, these farmers get extra assistance with insurance premiums for 5 years, but this bill would extend that help to 10 years. The bill also increases the amount of extra help they get, starting at 15 percentage points more assistance in the first two years and gradually decreasing to 10 percentage points in years five through ten. To qualify as a beginning farmer, someone must have operated a farm for no more than 10 years instead of the current limit, and veteran farmers can qualify if they haven't farmed for more than 10 years or became a veteran within the past 10 years.
