Veteran Caregiver Reeducation, Reemployment, and Retirement Act

This bill expands help for family members who care for veterans through a VA program. The bill gives primary caregivers medical coverage for 180 days after they stop being caregivers, unless they were removed for fraud or abuse or already have Medicare. The VA must provide grief counseling to caregivers when the veteran dies and help them plan for retirement, including studying whether to create retirement savings plans for caregivers. The VA must also help primary caregivers find jobs and transition back to work when they stop caregiving, both during their time as caregivers and for 180 days afterward, unless they were removed for wrongdoing.
