Michael Lecik Military Firefighters Protection Act

This bill creates a rule that helps military firefighter veterans get disability benefits more easily. If a veteran worked as a military firefighter for at least five years total and develops certain diseases within 15 years after leaving the military, the government will assume those diseases were caused by their military service. This makes it easier for these veterans to qualify for healthcare benefits and disability payments without having to prove their illnesses came from their military work.
