Cormorant Relief Act of 2025

This bill requires the Department of the Interior to bring back a special order that allows people to kill, capture, or scare away double-crested cormorants without getting a permit first. The previous order was canceled by a court in 2016. The order would let fish farm owners, workers, and state-licensed lake managers take action against these birds when they are causing problems at fish farms and hatcheries. The Department would need to renew this order every five years and expand it to cover more states and more types of facilities than the original order did.
