Wetlands Conservation and Access Improvement Act of 2025

This law extends a rule, through 2033, that requires interest earned on certain government funds to be sent to states specifically for wetlands conservation programs. The money comes from taxes on firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment, and it was originally set to stop going toward wetlands programs at the start of 2026. Without this extension, that interest money would instead be split among states for other purposes, like wildlife restoration, hunter education and safety, conservation grants, and administrative costs.
