Black Vulture Relief Act

This bill would allow livestock producers and their workers to kill, capture, or chase away black vultures if they reasonably believe the birds will harm or kill their livestock. Black vultures are normally protected by federal law, but this bill creates an exception for protecting livestock. Producers and workers could not use poison to kill the birds, and they would need to file yearly reports with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service about any black vultures they killed or captured. The Fish and Wildlife Service currently has a permit system that allows people to take action against black vultures in some cases.
