FISCAL Act

This bill would change the rules for milk served in school lunch programs. Currently, schools must provide regular milk but can offer plant-based milk substitutes only to students with medical needs or dietary restrictions if they have documentation from a doctor or parent. The bill would require all schools in the lunch program to offer plant-based milk options to all students without needing any special documentation. The plant-based milk would need to meet either U.S. Dietary Guidelines or nutrition standards set by the Department of Agriculture.
