Protecting Our Courts from Foreign Manipulation Act

This bill stops foreign governments and their investment funds from paying for or financially supporting lawsuits in U.S. federal courts when they are not directly involved as a named party in those lawsuits. It also makes it illegal for lawyers or parties in a lawsuit to accept that kind of foreign money. If any foreign person, government, or investment fund is financially connected to a lawsuit — such as having an agreement to get paid based on the outcome — the lawyers and parties involved must tell the court about it and share the details of any such agreement. These rules apply to both new lawsuits and ones already in progress when the bill becomes law.
