Expanding Access to School Meals Act of 2025

This bill makes it easier for students to get free school lunches and breakfasts. It allows students from families earning up to 224% of the federal poverty level to get free meals, which is higher than the current limit of 130%. The bill gets rid of reduced-price meal programs and instead makes those meals free too. It also lets states use Medicaid information to automatically sign up eligible students for free meals without separate applications, and increases funding for schools in high-poverty areas that provide free meals to all students.
