Nuclear Family Priority Act

This bill changes the rules for family members who want to immigrate to the United States. It removes parents of U.S. citizens from the "immediate relative" category, which currently allows unlimited visas for spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents of citizens. Instead, parents would get a temporary visa but could not work or receive government benefits. The bill also cuts the yearly limit on family-sponsored visas from 480,000 to 88,000 and eliminates visa categories for siblings and married children of U.S. citizens.
