COAL Act of 2025

This bill requires the Bureau of Land Management to process applications for coal mining leases on federal land. If an environmental review has already started for an application, the agency must complete the review process and approve the lease. The bill also requires approval of additional permits needed to start mining on coal leases that were already granted. Finally, the bill cancels a previous order that paused most new federal coal leases while the government reviewed the coal program.
