Daniel J. Harvey, Jr. and Adam Lambert Improving Servicemember Transition to Reduce Veteran Suicide Act

This bill requires the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense to provide more mental health information to service members leaving the military and veterans in their first year after leaving. When service members go through the military's transition program before leaving, they must now receive additional information about suicide risk and stress from leaving the military. The VA's Solid Start program, which reaches out to veterans in their first year, must now help veterans sign up for VA health care and teach them about available mental health services.
