To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to limit the coinsurance amount for certain services furnished in an ambulatory surgical center.

This bill puts a cap on how much Medicare patients have to pay out of their own pocket (called coinsurance) when they get medical procedures done at outpatient surgical centers. If the coinsurance amount is more than what a patient would pay as a deductible for a hospital stay, the government must lower the coinsurance to match that deductible amount and pay the rest directly to the surgical center.
