Expanding Remote Monitoring Access Act

This bill requires the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to make sure that Medicare covers remote health monitoring services — where a patient's health data is collected through medical devices without visiting a doctor's office — with as few as two days of data collection over a 30-day period, for two years after the bill becomes law. Previously, this lower data requirement was only allowed temporarily during the COVID-19 emergency, and normally 16 days of data collection were required. The bill also applies to all patients, not just those with or suspected of having COVID-19. Additionally, the agency must provide a report on how this change is being carried out, including possible differences in coverage and what providers using these services are required to do.
