SAFE Act of 2025

This bill gives the Department of Agriculture official authority to make advance agreements with other countries about animal disease outbreaks. These agreements would allow the U.S. to keep exporting animals and animal products from healthy areas when disease breaks out in other parts of the country, instead of having all exports banned. Several government agencies can work together to negotiate these deals with countries that buy livestock and animal products from the U.S.
